Leonhard Euler (/ˈɔɪlər/ OY-lər; German pronunciation: [ˈɔʏlɐ] ( ), local pronunciation: [ˈɔɪlr̩] ( ); 15 April 1707 – 18 September 1783) was a pioneering Swiss mathematician and physicist. He made important discoveries in fields as diverse as infinitesimal calculus and graph theory. He also introduced much of the modern mathematical terminology and notation, particularly for mathematical analysis, such as the notion of a mathematical function. He is also renowned for his work in mechanics, fluid dynamics, optics, astronomy, and music theory.
Euler is considered to be the pre-eminent mathematician of the 18th century and one of the greatest mathematicians to have ever lived. He is also one of the most prolific mathematicians; his collected works fill 60–80 quarto volumes. He spent most of his adult life in St. Petersburg, Russia, and in Berlin, Prussia.
A statement attributed to Pierre-Simon Laplace expresses Euler's influence on mathematics: "Read Euler, read Euler, he is the master of us all."

He is without a doubt the best mathematician of all time. Euler's work has been compiled into 75 volumes, with over 25,000 pages. He discovered/invented new fields of mathematics, along with solving tons of problems that people considered to be impossible. He discovered so many concepts and theorems that they had to start naming them after the second person to discover them after Euler. He has 96 things named after him in Mathematics, in comparison Gauss has 70, and Cauchy has 33.

Leonhard Euler was an eminent Swiss mathematician and physicist, who is widely credited to be one of the founders of pure mathematics. He made significant contributions to modern analytic geometry and trigonometry. Euler's critical and formative work revolutionized the fields of calculus, geometry and number theory.

He changed math as we know it today. He has his own number which drastically affected Calculus and can be used to calculate continuous interest. His identity regarding complex numbers is astounding and has lead to solving many math problems. He is a genius and a brilliant man.
